A RECORD YEAR UNE ANNÉE RECORD FONDS LEVÉS Le montant cumulé des fonds levés par les entreprises labellisées Genopole depuis sa création s’élève à 926 M€. Les levées de fonds des entreprises de healthtech en France s’élèvent à 1,8 Md€ (source France Biotech, Panorama 2019), En 2019, Genopole enregistre plus de 167 M€ de fonds qui ont été levés par 21 entreprises du biocluster. 2019 est une année exceptionnelle, avec 23 % de croissance, grâce à une levée de fonds de 110 M€ de la société Ÿnsect. Les secteurs de la santé et du bien-être, ainsi que celui des biotechnologies indus- trielles et bioproduction, sont ceux qui ont eu le plus de succès en termes de levées de fonds à Genopole cette année. RAISED FUNDS Since the creation of Genopole, its accredited companies have raised a cumulative €926 million in funding. In 2019, according to France Biotech, healthtech in France raised €1.8 billion. In that same year, 21 biocluster businesses raised €167 million. Year 2019 was thus exceptional as this latter figure, to which the €110 million raised by Ÿnsect contributed largely, represents a 23% increase over the preceding year. Health, well-being, industrial biotech and biopro- duction were the most successful sectors at Genopole in terms of fund raising activity in 2019. Glowee sous la lumière Glowee, qui produit de la bioluminescence à partir de micro-organismes, obtient 600 000 € par crowdfunding. C’est un financement utile pour le déploiement commercial de la Glowzen Room, expérience inédite de relaxation destinée au marché du bien-être et pour améliorer l’efficience de la matière première vivante, constituée de micro-organismes capables, sans modifications génétiques, de produire un éclairement. Pharnext, des résultats encourageants pour Syngility® Pharnext, société pionnière d’une nouvelle approche de développement de combinaisons de médicaments innovants, a réalisé en janvier une levée de fonds de 15 M€ auprès de la société CB Lux. Cette levée de fonds fournira à Pharnext des moyens supplémentaires pour financer le développement vers la commercialisation de Syngility® dans le traitement de la maladie Charcot- Marie-Tooth de type 1A. Ÿnsect monte au sommet Ÿnsect élève des insectes et les transforme en ingrédients pour l’alimentation animale et végétale. La société réussit une levée de fonds de 110 M€, la plus importante jamais atteinte hors des États-Unis dans le domaine Agtech. Son ambition est validée : devenir un leader mondial du marché des protéines alternatives et construire « Farmyng », la plus grande unité de production de protéines d’insectes au monde. En septembre, le président Macron annonce sa sélection parmi les 40 start-up françaises les plus prometteuses. Glowee in the light Glowee, a company developing lighting technologies based on microorganism bioluminescence, obtained €600,000 through crowdfunding. That sum will prove useful for the commercialization of the Glowzen Room, a novel relaxation experience intended for the well-being market, and for improvements to the cost-effectiveness of their raw material: living, non-genetically-modified microorganisms capable of producing light. Pharnext: encouraging results for Syngility In January, to empower their pioneering therapeutic approach involving the combination of innovative medicines, Pharnext raised €15 million in funds from CB Lux. This supplementary funding will contribute to the development and commercialization of Syngility, a novel treatment for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1A. Ÿnsect climbs to the top The company Ÿnsect raises insects and transforms them into fertilizers and animal foodstuffs. The company raised €110 million, an unprecedented sum in the field of agtech outside of the United States. Furthermore, in September, French President Emmanuel Macron announced Ÿnsect as one of the 40 most-promising French start-ups.
